Missoula Restaurant Going Out of Business
UPDATE: we're receiving conflicting reports regarding the status of BlackJack Pizza, they may be closing this Sunday (3/14), or, it could be 30 days from now.
The pandemic has been tough on local businesses and sadly, another one is closing here in Missoula. BlackJack Pizza at 2401 Brooks Street has informed us that this Sunday, March 14th, will be their last day in business. Coincidentally, Sunday is also "Pi Day," so a perfect day to take advantage of your final opportunity to enjoy a BlackJack pie.
Their building across from the Fairgrounds at "Malfunction Junction" is for sale, according to the sign out front. One of the current employees has reported that this Sunday (3/14) will be the last day they will be serving their square pan pizzas, calzones, cheese bread, wings, and salad. BlackJack is typically open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays, but we imagine they'll close up shop when they run out of ingredients.
Meanwhile, the Missoula Staggering Ox is still temporarily closed, not sure if, or when they will reopen. Red Rooster downtown closed permanently, the Northside KettleHouse is gone, Lucky's Market, Flying Squirrel, even the Montana Breast Cancer Foundation has shut down. In positive news, we got a new WinCo that people seem to be loving, and, of course, the news of a Chick-fil-A coming to Missoula has people ready to wait in line for hours just to get some chicken fingers. We are also getting a Firehouse Subs and Brooklyn Bagel & Bakery on North Reserve, so it's not all bad news.
Are you a fan of BlackJack pizza? Where will you be ordering from now that they are closing?
