Missoula Reacts To New Changes On The M Trail: What Do You Think?
Earlier this year, I finally did something I had been meaning to do ever since I moved to Missoula in 2018 - I made it to the top of the M trail!
Maybe that's not a big deal to some people (like you crazy ones who run up the entire thing every day, I have no idea how you do it), but it felt like a rite of passage for anybody that lives in Missoula. And over the past few months, some renovations have been happening over at the M trail to make it even more accessible to people who are getting ready for their hike.
ABC Fox Montana actually got to speak to some of the hikers on the trail to get their reactions to the new changes, which includes fixing stairs, adding new benches, extending switchbacks, reducing tripping hazards, improving water damage, and adding new fencing. Some were longtime M trail hikers, others were just checking it out for the first time, but all seemed impressed by the work done on the trail.
Volunteers have been hard at work for over 1300 hours to make these improvements, and they'll be back in the fall to add more memorial benches, too.
Have you stopped by the M trail recently and noticed all these new changes they've made to it? What do you think about them?
