Today, I left my house and went to start my car to go to work. After taking a second for the engine to actually kick on, my car told me that it was -2 degrees outside. Not only that, somehow the cold affected my car radio (probably thanks to the battery getting so cold overnight) and it wouldn't play anything.

That's right - it's so cold in Missoula right now that my car radio won't work. Honestly, that's a new one.

Not too much of a surprise, though, since today is actually the coldest day of the year in Missoula. Hopefully, it starts to warm up soon, I'm not a big fan of these "Classic Arctic Intrusions."

So if you're freezing out there in Missoula or anywhere else in Montana - where, in some spots, it's even colder! - here are 5 ways to get warm right now.

1. Climb Inside Your Refrigerator

It is probably warmer inside your fridge right now than it is in Missoula. At least the meat you placed in there for dinner is DEfrosting.

2. Cuddle Up Next to a Polar Bear

It's so cold in Montana that all of the bears have spontaneously turned into polar bears overnight (it's science). They will provide you warmth during these extremely cold times.

3. Drink a Milkshake

Need to raise your internal body temperature above sub-freezing levels? Try drinking a refreshing milkshake to warm yourself up!

4. Watch The Thing on Blu-Ray

John Carpenter's horror classic takes place on a scientific base deep in Antarctica. Watch it and think of traveling to a nice, warm destination like that! (Especially when Kurt Russell gets out the flamethrower!)

5. Climb Mount Everest

The physical activity will keep your blood moving and you'll stay warm in this tropical paradise.

In conclusion - come on, Missoula. Let's get warm already.
