Ok, maybe "your favorite Missoula DJ" is a little presumptuous - but hey, I got punched in the face, throw me a bone, why don't ya?

Mike, What Happened To Your Eye?

Glad you asked! So, here's the thing - I'm not going to publicly divulge everything that happened. In the interest of keeping people anonymous and hoping that they're able to get the help they need, I'm not going into specifics.

But here are the general broad strokes of what happened, focusing specifically on me and not on anybody else involved in the incident:

The other night, I was celebrating at a friend's birthday party, which ended with a few of us going to get some drinks at Flipper's. Around 1 AM, I headed out - but before going home, I decided to take a walk downtown to get some late-night Noodle Wagon.

So I started walking along the bridge, when I saw a couple of people struggling. I stopped, and while I was trying to protect somebody, I ended up getting attacked and punched multiple times in the face, mostly in the eye.

There is a lot more to the story, but again, we're not going into specifics here. The cops showed up, and I went home significantly bloodier than I was when I left Flipper's a little while earlier.

The Ironic (or Eye-Ronic) Twist

The only reason I was walking down that way in the first place was to get some late-night food after having a few drinks. And when I get home, guess what? Turns out my girlfriend had ordered pizza and forgot to tell me about it. My late-night munchie craving would have been satisfied AND I wouldn't have gotten punched in the face!

Anyway, I'm ok - my eye has been healing quickly and it definitely could have been a lot worse. The full story is a crazy one, but it doesn't necessarily feel like it's my place to tell it publicly. I'm just hopeful that everyone involved is able to get the help they need.
