Missoula Romance: Most Romantic Restaurants for Dates
We're in the heart of Montana's cold, brutal winter but despite that now is the time for romance because Valentine's Day is coming up— I'm not sure who picked the date for this holiday, but my guess is they weren't from anywhere around here. Please allow me to hide my bitterness and proceed.
Ok, so you're a Missoulian and it's date night, baby. But is there a restaurant in town that can properly set the romantic vibe for your dinner that will foster the intimacy and connection you're seeking, which are the world's most valuable treasures and what ultimately makes life worth living? Yes, and there's plenty to choose from. Here are a few options:
The Depot
This might be the first place Missoulians think of for a nice dinner. What I like about The Depot's decor is that it feels so Montanan while maintaining the kind of formal atmosphere that you want on a date. Try a steak or some seafood.
Florabella
This place is the new-kid-in town so to speak, but I think it will quickly become a standard for local date nights. The stereotype of a romantic meal is Italian food, so lean into it... figuratively of course, that way the sauce stays in the dish.
Finn Restaurant
This place might have the best view in Missoula, if you get a window seat you'll be looking out at the Clark Fork River and our beautiful mountains. They serve surf and "turf with a contemporary twist" as well as hand-tossed pizzas according to their website.
Mustard Seed
They serve pan-asian cuisine according to their website, with a diverse menu featuring many delicious options. I'll also note Mustard Seed is not the most expensive restaurant on this list.
Plonk
Even the name is fun. This place has a hip, peppy energy that is great for a hot date.
Boxcar Bistro
Fine dining in a luxury train has an interesting history you can read about at Boxcar Bistro's website. Excellent food with old-school, fancy decorations that will add up to a unique culinary experience.
The Keep Restaurant
Another restaurant with fantastic mountain views, Google reads try their rack of lamb or the salmon.
