Missoula County Has The Highest Vaccination Rate In Montana
Missoula County has been leading the charge in Montana to get vaccinated - as noted by the Missoula City-County Health Department, we've actually got the highest vaccination rate in the entire state.
They made the announcement in a post on Facebook this week:
They say that 54% of all Missoula County residents age 12 and older are now fully vaccinated, and 61% have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine.
This is definitely encouraging to see, especially as things start to get back to normal. We've lifted the county-wide mask mandate, events are back on the calendar, people are looking to travel again, concerts are coming back this summer... but, in order to ensure all those things can continue, enough people need to get the vaccine to create herd immunity.
Over half of Missoula County being fully vaccinated is a good start, and we'll only see those numbers climb over the next few months. If you still haven't gotten your vaccine yet, you can make an appointment at the Missoula City-County Health Department's website.
And if you're someone who doesn't want to get the vaccine, the health department recently addressed some of the concerns you may have about it, and is working to reassure people that the vaccine is safe to take.
Are you surprised to see Missoula County leading the vaccination rate throughout the state of Montana? Once you're vaccinated, what are you excited to do that you had to miss out on during the pandemic?
