Missoula Community Theatre Returns With First Big Show Since 2020
It's good to see our favorite Missoula institutions getting back into the swing of things. The Roxy Record Sale is set to return next weekend, the first Missoula Marathon since 2019 will be taking place in June, and now, the Missoula Community Theatre is getting back to doing what they do best.
MCT's First Big Production in Three Years Is Happening This Month
The pandemic pretty much wiped out the 2020 and 2021 seasons for Missoula Community Theatre, but they're officially back beginning in March with a large-scale production of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods.
(And as someone who did the sound for his high school drama club for four years straight, I can confirm that this show is a Theater Nerd Favorite.)
Into the Woods features a large ensemble cast, and this production will have a full orchestra and crew for the first time in three years. Montana Right Now spoke to the show's director, Joe Martinez, who says he put a unique spin on the show by turning the woods into a sort of abandoned amusement park.
The show will run from March 10th through March 20th. If you'd like to buy tickets, you can head to the Missoula Community Theatre's website. There you'll find info about all of their upcoming programming, which includes a production of The Spongebob Musical beginning in April.
Think you'll be checking out the Missoula Community Theatre production of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods? Is there any show you'd like to see them put on that they haven't done yet?
