Missoula Bruins Shortened Season to Start October 2nd

We've had a couple of Missoula sports teams that were ready to begin new seasons - only to see the entire seasons get canceled. The PaddleHeads didn't even get to play a game after their big change from being known as the Osprey - and the Griz saw the Big Sky Conference cancel all winter sports. The Missoula Bruins hockey team is hoping that the slightly reduced season will be able to take place as they close in on their opening game October 2nd.

The Bruins are ready to get rolling with a new coach, a new team logo, and the hope that nothing derails the soon-to-be- season. The league has already trimmed a few games off of the schedule, going from 47 to 40. But losing a few games is still a much better scenario than some leagues are facing. Major League Baseball was only able to play one-third of their schedule after some major coronavirus setbacks. Hopes are high that the Bruins' season can be played with minimal issues when it comes to COVID-19.

Temperature checks before practices, extra sanitary measures for the locker room, regularly disinfecting the equipment, players wearing masks except when on the ice......these are some of the measures that are being taken to prevent coronavirus cases and ensure the Bruins are able to suit up for their 20 home games at Glacier Ice Rink.
