Lolo 8th Grader Wins County Spelling Bee for the Third Time

Lolo School 8th grader Sam Person correctly spelled the word 'lexicology' to win the 2013 Missoula County Spelling Bee Thursday afternoon in the Dorothy Johnson Theater at Sentinel High School.

Person first won the bee as a 5th grader, then again last year. He will lead a team of three other finalists to the state bee on March 23. The state winner advances to the national bee in Washington D.C. The bee was sponsored by Lee Newspapers with Peter Christian as the very nervous first-time pronouncer.
