KPAX’s Mark Holyoak Steps Down. Can YOU Fill His Shoes?

We were floored when we heard that one of our favorite newscasters, Mark Holyoak was stepping down after nine years as the prime time anchor for KPAX. Mark was always such a warm and genuine news reporter that many Missoulians felt comfortable inviting into their homes at 5:30 and 10:00 each day. His delivery was "fair, accurate and to the point" and even during his downtime between news stories his banter with his co-host Jill Valley was natural and unforced. We will miss Mark.

The question now is: who on earth can fill his shoes? Well, if you think you have what it takes to grab the biggest newscast in the state by the horns and run with it, then here is your chance:

According to their website: KPAX communications is in search of a full-time news anchor with 5 years experience. A related college degree is also a must. You must also have knowledge in editing video, writing stories, and of course reporting. Aside from the long hours and grueling, ever-changing daily duties the job doesn't come without perks. Employees will receive paid time off, holiday pay, full medical and benefits, oh, and the benefit of being that guy or girl who is constantly recognized whenever you go out in public.

I'd apply for the gig, but I have a face for radio.

Seems like a pretty sweet opportunity for UM students who finished their journalism degree and had a few years of news experience in the real world under their belt. Our advice: polish up your resume, request that professional Boom Swagger news-style hair cut and please for the love of God, don't be THIS guy...

But then again, in a town like Missoula, we just might invite THAT guy into our house each night as well. Good luck!
