Ja Rule and Ashanti Headlining Billings 2K Hip Hop Concert Oct 7
UPDATE: The concert has been moved to October 7th. Tickets already purchased remain valid.
2023 is shaping up to be a great year for nostalgia hip-hop in Billings. On April 1, we were treated to the My 90's Playlist Tour, which featured Vanilla Ice, Ginuwine, Juvenline, All4One, and Color Me Badd. If you missed that show, check out some photo highlights on the link below.
Another recent Hip Hop concert in Billings starred Lil' Wayne. Despite wild rumors that he may not show up (or would put on a disappointing show), the May 23rd concert was excellent and well-attended.
You've probably heard the news that Ludacris is coming to MontanaFair this summer, and now the same promoter who brought Billings the My 90's Playlist and Lil' Wayne concerts has lined up another awesome show. Headlined by Ja Rule and Ashanti, guests on the bill include the Ying Yang Twins, DJ Quick, and Too Short.
Ja Rule ruled the charts in the early 2000s.
You couldn't turn on the radio without hearing his unmistakeable voice; bumping megahits like his duet 2001 duet with Jennifer Lopez, I'm Real. Ja Rule had eight songs hit the Billboard Hot 100 Top Ten during the pinnacle of his career, including Put It On Me, Livin' It Up, and Always On Time (one of his duets with Ashanti).
Ying Yang Twins
The Ying Yang Twins (D Roc and Kaine) seemed to pop up on tons of singles in the early 2000s, including an appearance on Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz’s smash single, “Get Low." Other big hits for the Atlanta-based duo include Say I Yi Yi, Salt Shaker, Wait (The Whisper Song), and Badd.
Too Short (alt spelling Too $hort)
Too Short's career launched in the mid '80s and he continued to crank out hits well into the mid-2000s. Fans love his sometimes explicit and occasionally controversial lyrics. Some of his biggest hits include The Ghetto, Blow the Whistle (you might know it from Madden '06), and Gettin' It.
