Missoula Man Removed From McDonald’s, Gets Caught With Meth
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On July 3, 2026, a Missoula Police Department Officer was dispatched to 1565 Liberty Ln., commonly known as McDonald's, for a report of a person to be removed. The 911 caller stated customers had been complaining about the male and that the restaurant wanted the individual removed and trespassed. The male was described as a Native American adult male in his 40s, in a wheelchair, and wearing a blue shirt and shorts.
Upon his arrival, the officer observed the male, later identified as 50-year-old Clifford Stanley, who was in the parking lot of the apartments to the south of the restaurant. After running Stanley’s name, the officer found Stanley to have a warrant.
The officer informed Stanley he was under arrest for the warrant. Stanley was searched incident to arrest and transported to jail. Once at the detention center, the officer was alerted by staff that they had discovered what they suspected to be methamphetamine, which was contained within a purple marijuana package and was found amongst Stanley’s belongings during an inventory search.

The officer observed the suspected meth, finding it to be a white/clear crystal-like substance within a small ziplock-style baggie. The baggie was also ripped, and there was similar residue within the marijuana package. The officer believed, based on his training and experience, the substance to be consistent with methamphetamine.
Then the officer contacted Stanley while he was being photographed by jail staff and Mirandized him. Stanley confirmed he understood. Stanley stated he is a methamphetamine user and last used 4-5 days prior.
Stanley stated he was familiar with the purple marijuana bag, and when asked, Stanley requested the bag be brought over to confirm Stanley understood the package. Stanley recognized the package, and when shown its contents, Stanley began to state he may have grabbed the package by accident when he was grabbing other packages while at his sister’s house.
