Missoula Crime Report: Man Threatens Family and Harms the Dog

Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - The Missoula County Attorney’s Office charged 19 new criminal complaints this week, which is three more than last week and right around the weekly average. According to County Attorney Kirsten Pabst, four of those cases involved crimes against persons. 

“We charged a robbery and an assault with a weapon in which a defendant allegedly smashed a bottle and threw glass at a victim,” Pabst said. “There were two family-related felonies. One was a partner or family member assault. The defendant allegedly threatened his wife with the kids present and allegedly harmed the family dog. In another assault with a weapon, the defendant allegedly assaulted his former girlfriend, pulled a knife, threatened her and her cat, and allegedly destroyed her home.” 

In addition, Pabst said there were three new felony DUIs this week, which she said is pretty alarming.

“I am supposed to remind you from the holiday task force, don’t the holidays with a DUI,” Pabst said. “It will not only wreck your holidays, but it could devastate the lives of other people. In the property crimes category, we charged a criminal trespass as well as a burglary. The allegation was the defendant, at a local grocery store, had taken thousands of dollars worth of merchandise over the course of several weeks and when he was apprehended, there was allegedly more merchandise in his backpack.”

Pabst said her office also charged several new fentanyl cases and some meth cases. 

“One involved a gun and selling marijuana to minors,” Pabst said. “In one, the postal inspector noticed a suspicious package at the post office, intercepted it, a drug dog alerted, a search warrant was obtained, and officers located cocaine and ketamine. They obtained another search warrant and found more drugs and cash proceeds.”
