Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - The Missoula County Attorney’s Office filed 18 new criminal complaints this week, which is double the amount of last week and right around the weekly average. According to County Attorney Kirsten Pabst, four of those involved crimes against persons.

“In one, the allegation is that the defendant assaulted his stepfather,” Pabst said. “In another, we charged a woman with assault on a minor. There was a three-year-old child that had an injury and the woman was also charged with methamphetamine. We also had two aggravated burglaries. In one, the defendant allegedly entered the residence, assaulted a woman, and threatened her with a gun in the presence of a child. In another, after an incident with a security guard at one of our local venues, the defendant allegedly assaulted some employees.”

In addition, there was one new felony DUI case and two cases involving criminal endangerment.

“The allegation is that there were two drivers chasing each other all over town and then ended up in a shootout in a residential neighborhood,” Pabst said. “They're both now in jail facing felony charges. In the property crimes category, we charged three burglaries, three thefts, and one criminal mischief.”

Pabst said her office also charged two new drug crimes.

“There was someone who was charged with possessing prescription opioids, unlawfully,” Pabst said. “In the other, the allegation was possession of psilocybin mushrooms. Working our way down the list, one of the charges was impersonation of a public servant. In that case, the allegation is that the defendant had a weapon and claimed to be an undercover federal agent in one of our local drinking venues.”
