Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On June 21, 2025, at approximately 1:52 AM, a Missoula Police Department officer was patrolling the Westside Little League area at 3400 Spurgin Road when he noticed a black Chevrolet Tahoe parked in the north end of the parking lot. Upon approaching the vehicle and activating his patrol lights, he found it occupied by two males.

A strong odor of burnt marijuana was detected. The passenger was identified as 18-year-old Logan Bivens. The officer informed them that the area had ongoing issues after hours and that loitering in the park at such an hour was suspicious based on his training and experience. When questioned, the driver stated that only Logan had been smoking marijuana.

According to court documents, Logan admitted he "technically" had a warrant but believed it had been addressed with his probation officer. After running their information, the officer confirmed Logan had a recent local warrant for a $1000 bond related to a Petition to Revoke on an Aggravated DUI charge. Logan was arrested without incident.

While in custody, Logan repeatedly attempted to disassociate from the jacket he was wearing, first calling it his and asking to leave it behind in the vehicle, and then denying ownership when the officer began the search incident to arrest.

During a search incident to arrest, the officer discovered an orange baggie inside the chest pocket of the jacket containing a white substance. Logan was advised of his Miranda rights and declined to answer further questions. He was transported to the Missoula County Detention Facility and booked on the warrant.

The substance was later tested using an ACE ID device and identified as Cocaine HCL and Chloropropham, weighing 1.9 grams. The evidence was processed and submitted to the Montana State Crime Lab. A property receipt was provided to Logan, and all related materials were entered into evidence.

Logan is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
