Missoula Crime Report: Man Headbutts Wife, Child Calls 911

Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - The Missoula County Attorney’s Office filed 17 new criminal complaints this week, which is one more than last week and right around the weekly average. According to County Attorney Kirsten Pabst, there were four cases this week that involved partner or family member assaults.  

“In one, a woman allegedly assaulted her husband,” Pabst said. “In another, an adult son allegedly assaulted his mom and his uncle. In another, a man headbutted his wife allegedly and then the child that was present called 911 for help. Finally, another man allegedly assaulted his wife causing serious bodily injury and then the allegation is he attacked three deputies during the booking process. 

In addition, Pabst said her office charged a man for pointing a rifle at another driver.

“In the endangerment category, we had six new cases,” Pabst said. “Two of those were felony DUIs and four of them were criminal endangerments. Those included speeds in excess of 100 mph during a chase. Another one involved shots fired in a public park. A third one involved reckless driving with two toddlers on board. Then finally, the 4th involved a fire and explosions that occurred in a person's tent.” 

Pabst said there were also three new drug cases this week.

“There were two methamphetamine cases and one involving meth and fentanyl,” Pabst said. “The allegation was the defendant allegedly was trying to hide and destroy her pills in the back of the patrol car. Last night looks like it was fairly quiet. There were two new arrests that we’re reviewing, a fugitive and a DUI.”
