Felony DUI Arrest at the Wendy’s Drive-Thru in Missoula
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On July 11, 2026, two Missoula Police Department officers were patrolling and working as a DUI-specific unit. The officers were dispatched to Wendy’s at 3011 Brooks St. for a report of a driver slumped over the wheel in the parking lot. The complaining witness stated that the vehicle almost hit her as it pulled into the parking lot.
When the officer arrived, he observed the suspect vehicle parked at the drive-thru window. The officer found the vehicle to be registered to 37-year-old Christain Bramsen. The officer spoke with Bramsen in the drive-thru line, confirming his identity and ensuring he did not need medical attention. The officer could smell metabolized alcohol emanating from Bramsen’s breath as he spoke. Bramsen was instructed to pull out of the drive-thru and into the Claimjumper parking lot.
The officer contacted a Wendy’s employee who stated Bramsen comes to Wendy’s several times per week and is often intoxicated, smelling of alcohol, and slurring his words. She also stated Bramsen has gotten hostile with staff, to the point she feared he may become violent. She also stated Bramsen took an exceptionally long time to place his order and requested he be trespassed from Wendy’s.

The other officer made contact with Bramsen at the driver’s side window. When speaking with Bramsen, the officer observed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noted Bramsen had a lethargic demeanor, glazed and bloodshot eyes, and thick and slurred speech. According to court documents, Bramsen admitted to consuming two beers and a shot earlier in the evening. The officer found Bramsen was uncooperative and argumentative throughout the encounter. He said Bramsen did not initially comply with turning off the vehicle’s engine, and it took several requests for him to exit the vehicle.
Bramsen refused to participate in the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, complaining of an eye issue and multiple prior leg injuries. Bramsen was read the PAST Advisory and provided a PBT that was greater than .08 BAC. Bramsen was also found to have a suspended license. Bramsen was placed under arrest and was transported to the Missoula Police Department.
The officer read the Implied Consent Advisory to Bramsen, who became agitated and belligerent, arguing that he had already provided a breath test. The officer clarified that he had previously requested a preliminary breath test. Bramsen then used profanity and demanded to be taken away from the scene. The officer considered Bramsen’s response as a refusal and applied for a warrant, which was later granted. A blood draw was conducted at St. Patrick Hospital, and Bramsen was later remanded to jail.
