We are often visited by cute, cuddly little dogs on Take Me Home Tuesday, but not today!

Well, the cute and cuddly part still applies to this lovable charmer, but Robin is a big boy, in need of some surgery, which will be covered prior to his release. Then hopefully it's off to a forever home with a little room to roam.

It was another Take Me Home Tuesday at our radio stations, sponsored locally by the animal-loving folks at Paul's Pancake Parlor, Tremper's Shopping Center here in Missoula. Allison from the Humane Society of Western Montana brought in the delightful Robin, a year-old neutered male, who appears to be a shepherd mix. Allison tells us that he is very sweet and very playful, good with other dogs, as well as cats and humans. He'd make a great hiking companion, and a home with at least a little outdoor space would be recommended.

Now, about that surgery. A cleft palate is something we normally associate with newborn human babies, not dogs. A cleft palate happens if the tissue that makes up the roof of the mouth does not join together completely. Thanks to funds accumulated through the recent Missoula Gives program, Robin's cleft palate surgery will be completely funded, then he will looking for a quiet place to land to land while he recovers.

The Humane Society of Western Montana is open Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 till 6:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday visits can also be arranged by appointment. They are located at 5930 US Highway 93 South, Missoula. You can see more of the wonderful animals and learn more about the adoption process by visiting their website.
