One of the biggest sporting events that Missoula, Montana has been involved in, in over a decade, is happening this weekend. The University of Montana Grizzlies, are playing for the FCS National Championship. For those that have been under a rock, the "Griz" (ranked number 2 in the nation) are playing the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits (ranked number 1 in the nation). Occasionally when there is a game of this magnitude, local politicians may make a small wager on the outcome. We decided to try our hand at doing the same thing.

Montana vs. South Dakota

The Chris and Ashley show from  "Z100 Missoula's Only Classic Rock" wanted to make a small wager with a similar radio show in South Dakota. We called up the "Andy and Christine Show" on KXRB in Sioux Falls, which happens to be a Townsquare Media Country radio station.  We wanted to see if 1) they are Jackrabbit fans, and 2) if they would be willing to make a friendly wager with us on the outcome of the game.

The Friendly Wager Is On

On our end of the bet we are putting up some Z100 Dark Blend Hunter Bay Coffee Roasters coffee and some Montana huckleberry jam. On their end they are betting some pheasant jerky and some of Poppy's Popcorn. That made Ashley extremely happy since she has a passion for popcorn.

This is all in good fun. For those that are a bit more serious about the upcoming game, there is a great local bar in Missoula that will be serving up some rabbit on the menu in honor of the game.

With the recent passing of University of Montana Legendary Coach Don Read, who led the Griz to their first National Championship in 1995, I think it is safe to say a majority of Montana will be rooting for the Griz this weekend. Regardless of the wager, as always "Go Griz".
