Montanans Can Still Beat This Weekend’s USPS Stamp Price Increase

Upcoming Stamp Price Increases: What You Need to Know
The U.S. Postal Service is raising the price of Forever Stamps beginning Sunday, July 12th. The increase is four cents, pushing the cost of mailing a one-ounce first-class letter from 78 cents to 82 cents.
Detailed Price Changes for Mailing Options
Other mailing services are going up.
- Metered one-ounce letters will increase from 74 cents to 78 cents.
- Domestic postcards will rise from 61 cents to 65 cents.
- International letters and postcards will both increase from $1.70 to $1.75.
One price that doesn’t look to be changing is the additional-ounce rate for single-piece letters, which should remain at 29 cents.

The Postal Service announced a temporary price increase on shipping options back in April. At the time, they said that there wouldn’t be a change in the price of first-class stamps. The Postal Service proposed the increases in an April filing with the Postal Regulatory Commission, and they will take effect this Sunday.
Benefits of Buying Now: Forever Stamps Validity
If you use a lot of stamps, it might be worth stocking up on Forever Stamps over the next few days. Any Forever Stamps you buy now will still be valid after the price increase, even though they'll cost more starting Sunday.
