Every once in a while, there is an advantage to going to work before the sun rises each day. On a clear morning, being able to take a look at the dark sky is something special, especially here in Montana.

There is so much to look for in our skies. We occasionally have the chance to see the Northern Lights when they are strong enough to be seen this far south. Montanans also get a chance to see meteor showers when we cross their paths.

Sometimes, when you look into the great Montana skies, you may see something that you can't quite explain. Over the past few years, there has been a shift in what we call UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects). They are now being referred to as UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena). According to How Stuff Works, the shift in terminology has opened up the definition to include different phenomena that can happen in our skies.

Another reason for the change in terminology is conspiracy theories, some people weren't comfortable reporting a UFO. For some, it's easier to report UAPs. Montana has had its share of sightings that can't be explained over the years.

I have witnessed a lot in Montana skies. I haven't been lucky enough to spot a UFO, or at least one that I felt confident I could report.
