Montana Celebrity Spotted Hyping Local Coffee Shop in Missoula
Summer is prime time for celebrity spottings in Montana. Just a few weeks ago, Tom Brady posted to Instagram about spending time in Big Sky with this family.
But after the last few years, celebrities have been spotted more frequently in Montana, and not just in the summer. Earlier this spring Kristin Cavallari posted pictures from a visit to Yellowstone National Park with "Montana Boyz" Boyfriend Mark Estes.
I think Montana's favorite kind of celebrity is the homegrown kind. Reggie Watts, comedian and actor known for Comedy Bang! Bang! and The Late Late Show with James Corden, is from Great Falls and he makes relatively frequent visits home.
On a recent visit (like the video posted yesterday) Reggie Watts stopped by Drum Coffee.
In a bit of a parody, he calls himself the "The Coffee Prospector" and gives an endorsement for Drum Coffee. Reggie puts on a hilarious voice (and look at that shirt) and tells people the shop was started by his friend "the drummer" (i.e. John Wicks of Fitz and the Tantrums and University of Montana Professor).
The shoutout is well timed as Drum Coffee, like many businesses and families around Missoula, is cleaning up after the historic storm on July 24 which caused catastrophic damage all over town.
In the post before the Reel of Watts, Drum Coffee said "...goodbye to an old friend who provided us lots of shade," referring to the tree just outside the location on South Avenue where people would sit and have a cup of coffee.
Watts finished his reel by saying of Drum Coffee, "They love everybody and I love you. Bye."
Thanks, Reggie, for the visit. We love you too.
