It doesn't look like it. For the time being Montana is still an expensive state to purchase a home. According to Bankrate.com, Montana's housing market is still one of the more expensive in the country.
They crunched the numbers to figure out how much a household needs to make in order to afford to buy a home.

To be able to afford a typical U.S. home a household will need to be making $116,986 a year. According to their report, that is an almost 50% increase since early 2020. They are basing their numbers on the purchase price of a "typical" home, which is a home "based on the median sale price of $418,489 home".
In 30 states, including Washington D.C., a household needs to be earning six figures to be able to afford a home.
The states where people need to earn the most money to afford a home are Washington D.C.($240,009), Hawaii ($235,638), California ($213,447), Massachusetts ($174,392) and Colorado ($168,643).
In Montana, in order to purchase a typical home, it would take an average household income of $142,316,-more than any of our neighbors.
The most affordable states for purchasing a typical home are West Virginia ($64,179), Iowa ($70,437), and Ohio ($71,080).
For now, Montana is still one of the more expensive states for purchasing a home. There are a lot of people who hope that will change in the future.
