Missoula Mavs 2023 Tournament To Host Montana and Canadian Teams

The "Boys of Summer" are getting the most out of the season and coming up this weekend the Missoula Mavericks are hosting the AA Montana-Alberta American Legion Baseball tournament starting this Saturday. I spoke with Chris Stratton the voice of the Missoula Mavericks about the upcoming tournament.

It will run for five days, it's going to be a great tournament. Some great baseball. The Mavericks will play on Saturday night at 7 o'clock against the Billings Royals.

Plenty of Baseball over 5 Days in Missoula

This is a five day tournament, with four games on Saturday and Sunday. Three games on Monday, two on Tuesday and the championship game will be played on Wednesday. All of the games will be played at Lindborg-Cregg Field in Missoula.

Teams from Montana and Canada

There are teams coming from across Montana. Teams from Helena, Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, and Kalispell. There will be one team from Canada, the "Medicine Hat Moose Monarchs".

Please Support the Missoula Mavericks

The Missoula Mavericks are hoping to get support from the community for the upcoming tournament. The Saturday Mavericks game will be something special. According to Chris:

Really the time to come out and check out the whole event would be on Saturday night. They are having the opening ceremony where they will celebrate all the teams. They will bring all the teams out onto the field during the opening ceremonies. Missoula's American Legion will be there, and that is at 6:30pm and the Mavericks will play at 7pm.

The Missoula Mavericks are a "Young" Team This Year

According to Chris, the Mavericks are a young team this year coming into the tournament as the fifth seed. Tickets will be available at the gate for the games. Keep in mind this weekend is going to be a hot one, so make sure if you go and cheer on the "Mavs" keep hydrated and we wish them luck in the tournament.
