Some of my proudest moments working in radio have been when we have been able to help our community. Sometimes it is sitting inside a refrigerated trailer early in the morning collecting turkeys for local food banks as part of our annual Guerrilla Turkey Drive, and sometimes it is just using our voice to let people know how they can help.

Recently we were made aware of a local couple who are fighting cancer. There will be a car show in July to help their fight.

There is another event coming up to help our local community and will also be fun at the same time.

Keep Missoula Housed Cornhole Tournament

Keep Missoula Housed is hosting its annual cornhole event at the Missoula Paddleheads stadium on Thursday, July 24th from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be food and drinks available for purchase. They will also have a 50/50 drawing and a silent auction.

Keep Missoula Housed, formerly the Dubbers Care Foundation, is an organization that helps those in need of emergency assistance in our community. They help provide for families who find themselves in crisis or hardship.

Keep Missoula Housed was started in 2017, and over the years they have donated over $250,000 to 270 households in need in Western Montana. The organization has helped with emergency hotel stays, rent or mortgage payments, utility bills, and security deposits.

They can't do all of this without the help of our community. They are always looking for volunteers. It doesn't always have to mean a financial donation. Sometimes lending a hand or signing up for a cornhole tournament can help out members of our community too.
