We found a social media trend we wanted to try.

It's no secret that Montanan towns love to roast each other. If you've ever had to move from one town to another, you've heard the jokes about the place you just came from. And if you live anywhere long enough in Montana, you've probably roasted your own town, too.

So, along the lines of the video that's been trending on Instagram, we thought we'd ask AI to roast Missoula and see what it says.

Remember this is all in fun and that these comments are from a chatbot and not a person. But let's just see what an AI comedian would say if it were roasting Missoula. Will it mention hippies? Craft beer? Beards? We asked ChatGPT to pretend it was a comedian and roast Missoula and here's what it said:

Not a bad start. I think a fair number of Missoulians consider themselves outdoorsy, and the bumper sticker joke is pretty solid. It might have landed better if they saved the bumper sticker joke for when they roasted Missoula for being weird.

These jokes are a bit weaker. Coming for our tie-dyed shirts? Also, it's no insult that we can build a campfire and split wood. That's called survivor skills, lol. But the art gallery/tree chopping confusion, yeah, that's real.

But then the AI comedian zeroed in on a niche of Missoula that is more nuanced than the typical Missoula stereotypes.

Whoa! Dragging the Rattlesnake and mountain bikes into the roast, too? Harsh. But wait until you see the blasphemy it spewed about #griznation.
