Akron Will Let You Call Plays for One Drive

The Zips announced that if you sign up for Zips season tickets, you'll have a chance to call plays during Akron's opening drive of the 2026 season.

Seriously.

Can you imagine Bobby Kennedy in his first game giving the headset over to some eGriz fan? "Give 'em hell, @GrizFan210."

Or better yet, could you imagine former Grizzly Head Coach Bobby Hauck doing that? If our marketing department came to him and told him they were letting a fan calling the drive's first plays, he might have an aneurysm on the spot.
