What do you know about the Akron Zips? I'm willing to bet you don't have a lot of knowledge about the MAC team, other than their men's basketball team making the NCAA Tournament last season.
They didn't stay in the tournament very long, as they got WAXED by Texas Tech in the first round.
Regardless, you're going to know about Akron for their online stunt to drive football season ticket owner numbers up.
Akron Will Let You Call Plays for One Drive
The Zips announced that if you sign up for Zips season tickets, you'll have a chance to call plays during Akron's opening drive of the 2026 season.
Seriously.

Can you imagine Bobby Kennedy in his first game giving the headset over to some eGriz fan? "Give 'em hell, @GrizFan210."
Or better yet, could you imagine former Grizzly Head Coach Bobby Hauck doing that? If our marketing department came to him and told him they were letting a fan calling the drive's first plays, he might have an aneurysm on the spot.
