Here in Great Falls, anytime a new restaurant gets announced, you can almost set your watch to it. Someone will jump into the comments and ask why we still do not have an Olive Garden or Red Lobster.

And honestly, it is not just those two. Great Falls is missing out on quite a few big-name chains. The truth is, the entire state is

Montana Has Plenty Of Restaurants But Some Big Names Are Missing

Now, it is not like Montana is hurting for places to eat. We have plenty of national franchises and some fantastic local spots all across the state. But let’s be real. Sometimes we just want what we cannot have.

With that in mind, we took a look at the Technomic Top 500 Chain Restaurant Report, which ranks the top restaurant chains in America based on annual sales.

No shock here, McDonald's sits at the top of the list. But when you dig into the rest of the top 50, you will find 13 chains that do not have a single location anywhere in Montana.

Full List Of Restaurant Chains Missing From Montana

A couple of them actually used to be here but ended up closing for one reason or another. And there are a few that have announced plans to open a Montana location, but as of right now, no ground has been broken.
