Oh, there will still be a parade, and tons of lights, but the Missoula favorite event is stepping into 2024 with a new, fresh style.

The Missoula "Parade of Lights" has always been so much more than that. It's a massive sense of community and creativeness that makes our small mountain town just a little more special. Now those things aren't going anywhere, but they are changing the face up a bit.

The Missoula "Parade of Lights" is moving forward and will now be known as "Holidays on Higgins".

This will be the 21st edition of this festival with a facelift, and will take place on Saturday, December 2nd. The whole event is family-friendly kicking off at the library with tons of kids' activities and even a visit from Santa. They ask that you get in line for Jolly St. Nick by 2:30 as the reindeer need to be fed by 3 pm according to their Facebook event page.

Of course, there will be a parade with some insanely creative floats, some ornament workshops, carousel rides, clothing decorating, tea making, letters to Santa, the Missoula Makers Collective Market, and everyone's favorite, the tree lighting promptly at 6 pm.

Downtown Missoula will be lit up with lights and smiling faces. Even with all the business changes over the last few years, there are still many locally owned and operated Missoula businesses that would love to see you stop by this holiday season. Many of them will be going all out for this event, so make sure you stop by and show some love.

For any sponsorship or event questions, stop by the Missoula Downtown Holidays on Higgins site.
