It's not Pumpkin Spice season just yet, thankfully, but that doesn't mean Missoula Fall fanatics aren't gearing up for the season with the annual Fall Harvest Festival.

I've had a love/hate relationship with the Fall season for as long as I can remember. The end of Summer is always so sad. Like Superman, I live and die by the Sunshine. Fishing, golfing, river floating, Paddleheads baseball, outdoor concerts. You get the idea.

With Fall just lurking around the corner, the students are already returning to school, and Griz Football is almost here, we need to start looking forward to Fall events, like the upcoming Fall Harvest Festival.

The fine folks at the Historic Museum at Fort Missoula have just announced their amazing Fall Fest for 2023.

This year's event will take place on Sunday, October 1st starting at 11 am. It will all be located at Fort Missoula (3400 Captain Rawn Way, Missoula).

This is a family-friendly/admission by donation event jam-packed with tons of activities like:

  • A steam-powered sawmill demonstration
  • Self-cider-making stations
  • Tours of Sliderock Lookout, Grant Creek Schoolhouse, and Hayes Homestead Cabin
  • Fall-themed crafts and activities

There will also be plenty of local vendors as well as Autum-themed food on hand. This is a positive community event, even if the falling leaf Season isn't your thing. The Historic Fort Missoula has been in our fair city since 1877, and they have a ton of volunteers and fundraisers like this one that make sure it stays standing and the history can be passed on.
