Is Montana One of the Worst States to Have A Baby?
I'm in my mid-20s, which means I'm starting to see people I know get married and have babies. It's weird! But it's happening! My Facebook feed is getting cluttered with baby photos, and there's nothing I can do about (except mute my friends, which seems like kind of a jerk thing to do).
Anyway, WalletHub just did this study figuring out the best and worst states to have a baby in 2019 - based on factors like cost, health care, and "baby-friendliness", whatever that means. Maybe there's a lot of Wiggles concerts in the area? Do babies still like the Wiggles?
So I was curious, and speaking from a purely hypothetical standpoint because this likely won't happen in my own life for many many years, if I ended up raising a baby, would Montana be a decent place to do it in? And turns out - kinda! We ranked number 25 on the list, right in the middle. Not too bad, not too good.
For those curious, the number one place to raise a baby in the US is Vermont. And the absolute worst, according to the study? Mississippi.
