This week, Missoula took part in a walk to raise awareness for MMIWG - Missing and/or Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. The walk was done to commemorate the 2-year anniversary of the disappearance of Jermain Charlo, and to honor all missing Indigenous women and girls, an ever-growing epidemic that deserves more attention in the media than it gets.

Hundreds showed up to walk from Sacajawea Park to the Badlander and back. MT. The entire thing was organized by 17 year old Chayla Jewel, a relative of Jermain, who also fundraised for masks and water and led the crowd. The Missoula Police Department was on hand to guide traffic as so many people came out to march.

Here are some incredible pictures from the event sent to me by Angel, who was there to walk on Tuesday night.
