Homicide Victim Identified by Missoula County Coroner

Missoula County Sheriff and Coroner T.J. McDermott released the identity of the individual who was shot to death on Tuesday afternoon.

The victim was identified as 33 year-old Sundance Ron Leon Hernandez of Missoula.

Hernandez was found dead at the scene of the shooting that occurred in the parking lot of the Creekside Apartments on East Broadway in Missoula.

Missoula Police Captain Mike Colyer is asking the public for any information that may be related to the fatal shooting.

One individual is being sought in connection with the fatal shooting. He is 33-year-old Christopher Newrider. He is a white male, 6’0/200 lbs. last seen wearing a black ‘watch-cap’, black hoodie, and black shoes. He has brown hair & green eyes and currently has dark facial hair. Newrider is believed to be armed with a handgun, and dangerous.

As of Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Newrider is still at large and is sought by Missoula Police.
