Highlander Beer Closes Temporarily For COVID-19 Testing

As Coronavirus case numbers in Montana have grown over the last few weeks, we've seen a few places around town have to temporarily shut their doors after someone - whether an employee, a customer, or a volunteer - tested positive for the virus. We've seen it happen to Paradise Falls, Zootown Arts Community Center, Cranky Sam's Public House, and a few others.

So, this is a good news/bad news situation, then. First, the bad news - Highlander Beer has closed its doors for a couple of days. They announced it on their Facebook page on Sunday.

So here's the good news - no one on their staff has yet tested positive for COVID-19. The Facebook post calls the closure a "precautionary measure," but when asked about it in the comments, the brewery quickly responded that no one has tested positive yet.

So while it's a bummer that Highlander is closed for a couple of days, I think most people would agree that it's great that they're looking out for the safety of their employees and their customers by doing this. Maybe some other places around town will start to follow suit and try to get some testing done now - so they don't have to do a lot more testing in the future.
