As someone who's very into movies, I follow a lot of movie critics and film obsessives on Twitter. And if you're into movies, you might be aware that the Sundance Film Festival has been happening over the past week. And this year, because of COVID, Sundance is actually virtual, meaning more critics and filmgoers than ever have access to the festival.

Which means my entire Twitter feed has been nothing but people talking about great-looking movies that I can't watch yet because I was a dummy and decided not to buy a ticket. Festivals are a great place to make discoveries, and have a film you've barely heard of completely blow you away.

Like Sundance (and pretty much every other film festival of the past year), the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival is going virtual for 2021. Normally, you'd be watching the films at a few different locations around Missoula, but this year, you'll be watching from the comfort of your own home.

This is the 18th Annual Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, and over 1800 films were submitted - 87 ended up being chosen from 26 countries. That includes feature-length docs and short films, many of which are world premieres, playing at the festival for the first time ever.

The festival is scheduled to take place from February 19th through February 28th, and the full list of films is available at their website. Think you'll be checking it out? Or will you be kicking yourself like me with Sundance, wishing you had acted on it when you had the chance?
