Here we GO: ‘Savage’ Montana Woman to Fight for UFC Contract
Montana is known for its mountains, its wildlife and soon— its fighters. We've already got "Sugar" Sean O'Malley from Helena, the UFC star with 2.4 million followers on Instagram fighting on the main card of the pay-per-view event on October 22nd. This Tuesday, September 13th, Montana may have another fighter on the UFC roster.
The Show
"Dana White's Contender Series" is a show where up-and-coming fighters compete for the chance of getting a UFC contract. Winning isn't enough to get signed, UFC President Dana White will only give approval if he likes the fighter's performance. Sean O'Malley got his start on the first season of that show in 2017, knocking out his opponent in the very first round.
The Fighter
From Kalispell, Marnic Mann has a 5-0 pro record (5 wins, zero losses) with 4 of those wins coming by stoppage. She has maybe the best nickname ever, "The Sawed-Off Savage." In an interview with John Eric Poli from MyMMANews.com, Marnic said she got the nickname from her fiancé after her pro debut, "sawed-off" because she's just 5 ft. tall, "savage" because she can pack a punch, which she proved by winning the fight via knock out.
Marnic is fighting in the UFC Apex in Las Vegas against the Brazilian, Bruna Brasil. Bruna has a record of 7-2-1 (seven wins, two losses, 1 draw) and is currently on a 6-fight win streak.
How To Watch
Tuesday, September 13th tune in to ESPN+ at 6pm Mountain Time to cheer on Marnic Mann in not just the biggest fight of her career, but one of the biggest fights in Montana MMA history.
