Hamilton’s Culture Crawl Moves to Saturday in December
For a few years, Hamilton's "Culture Crawl" collection of gallery open houses has been in the evenings on the second Friday of each month. But with the changes in shopping behaviors due to the COVID-19 threat, this month's Culture Crawl will instead be during the day this Saturday, December 12. Of course, wearing masks is requested.
Organizer Barbara Liss said, "It evolved. It's in the daylight hours, which a lot of people prefer and it's more hours, which spreads people out over a longer time period. I'm sure you won't find any of the galleries too crowded for comfort."
The galleries this month include:
Music is part of the Bliss Artworks Culture Crawl this Saturday. Classical pianist Arthur Kostuk, just back from recording in San Francisco, will be at the keyboard in the Gallery Too presentation. Tune in next month to see if Culture Crawl will be back on Fridays or continue on Saturdays.
The Culture Crawl has been one of the Hamilton Downtown Association events to remind people to shop at home and support local businesses. The association has been raising funds to help many of the Hamilton establishments through the COVID-19 pandemic, when the numbers of customers have been drastically reduced. However, they realize that the only way these local businesses will survive is if more customers come into the businesses. And that could be you.
