Filmmaker Christian Ackerman's Fastcoast Productions in Hamilton had an ambitious plan last fall. Film and edit a horror film in less than two months, use real location shots in Hamilton and cast all local actors. He worked with the Hamilton Police Department to film on city streets at night and kept an intense production schedule.

The project was completed and has been shown to the public at a movie theater at Big Sky, Montana, and at the Hamilton Playhouse in the Bitterroot Valley. But now, "Karpenter" will have a worldwide audience beginning Saturday evening, January 27, at 7 p.m. MST, when it "drops" live on YouTube. It will also be available for viewing on Amazon Prime, Ackerman told KLYQ. He is also contemplating another movie theater showing, but details are still being worked out. By the way, a DVD and Blu-Ray disc of "Karpenter" is in the future, too.

In the meantime, his production studio is busy with the initial stages of a science fiction thriller "Spacelock." The sets are being constructed, the actors are being cast and he's working to present a high quality production with an extremely low-budget. Ackerman's website has videos showing "behind the scene" tours and interviews, along with links to previous films. Ackerman has been a popular instructor with the Bitterroot's MAPS media arts program and a Corvallis High School media class.
