COVID-19 positive tests have caused the closure of Hamilton High School Thursday, October 8. The announcement was made late Wednesday following a report from Ravalli County Public Health. Only the high school is affected. The other buildings will remain open. The statement from officials:

"Due to reports of multiple positive COVID-19 cases, Hamilton High School will be closed tomorrow, October 8th.
Due to privacy constraints, Hamilton School District is unable to provide additional information regarding the positive COVID-19 cases. Staff and students who are determined to be close contacts of a confirmed COVID-19 case will be contacted individually.
Hamilton High School students should check with each of their teachers via Google classroom for assignments throughout the day tomorrow.
This closure affects only Hamilton High School.
All other District buildings remain open and students should report to school."

UPDATE - Earlier Wednesday, All of the Stevensville public school system classes were cancelled for Thursday, due to a separate COVID-19 positive test. The Stevensville School Board lengthened that closure through Monday, October 12, including extracurricular programs. Only distance learning is continuing for that period.
