Free Flu Shots Available for Missoula Area Veterans

The Montana VA Health Care System is providing free flu shots for Vets who are enrolled in VA health care. They want to spread the word that flu shots are especially critical in this pandemic year and remind you to schedule an appointment soon. Vets can receive flu shots at the Missoula VA clinic drive-up in the Palmer Professional Park on Palmer Street, Vets will also be offered a shot at already scheduled appointments, and free shots are also available through in-network community providers.

Missoula-area Vets can also go into the VA clinic's 'C3 Lobby' for walk-in flu shots on Mondays from noon to 4 p.m., Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to noon, and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. NO appointment is necessary for these walk up times.

In July, Missoula held a groundbreaking ceremony for the David J. Thatcher VA Clinic on West Broadway near the Missoula International Airport. The new $31 million clinic will be located at 3885 West Broadway and will be approximately 60,000 square feet in size and situated on eight acres. David J. Thatcher was Missoula’s own ‘Doolittle Raider’, who took part in the daring carrier-based bombing raid on Japan in World War II.

The Montana VA Health Care System serves over 47,000 enrolled Veterans across Montana—an area roughly 147,000 square miles in size. Veterans are cared for by a staff of 1,400 at 17 sites of care across the state.  One third of Montana VA employees are Veterans.
