Forbes released their annual list of the richest people in the world this past week, and as you might expect, the usual names made the cut. Your Elon Musks, your Mark Zuckerbergs, your Jeff Bezoses - they're all here.

But the list actually goes pretty deep: according to Forbes' calculations, there are over 2600 people in the world who are worth over $1 billion, and the list has rankings for every single one of them.

And Missoulians might be interested to know that, of those 2600 people, two of them actually live right here in town, ready to dive into their swimming pools of money like Scrooge McDuck.

Who Are the Missoula Billionaires Who Made the Forbes List?

According to Ash Jurberg, four of the billionaires on the list live in Montana, with two of them residing in Missoula. Those two are:

- Dennis Washington, who has a net worth of $6.7 billion, making him the 350th richest person in the world.

- Linda Pritzker, who has a net worth of $2 billion and is ranked as the 1513th richest person in the world.

Washington was the founder of Washington Industries, a construction and mining company which was purchased for over $3 billion in 2007.

Pritzker's wealth was inherited from her family, who built the Hyatt hotel business - though she's largely devoted her life to philanthropy, donating much of her wealth and studying Tibetan Buddhism.

It's pretty tough to make a billion dollars, so it might be a while before we add another one to the list in Missoula. But if any billionaire wants to move to town and feels like paying my rent for a while, they can reach me here at the radio station!
