We finally know what's going on with that old hotel downtown at Main and Pattee. Formerly the Days Inn at 201 East Main, the building is now under construction to become The Wren. I have to admit, I've lived here my entire life, with the exception of a few years in the late 90s, and I've never stepped foot on to this property, nor have I ever met anyone who has rented a room at this particular Days Inn. Which is peculiar.

The corner has been under construction for quite some time, and you know the intersection has exploded with exciting new businesses. You've got Conflux Brewing, which opened in the summer of 2018, the gorgeous new AC Hotel with that rad bar that opens out onto the sidewalk, and all of the new places inside The Merc, including the Camino restaurant and the Residence Inn by Marriott which is stunning inside.

The new addition to Main and Pattee will be The Wren. It will have 73 rooms, the Days Inn had 50. Each room is said to be one-of-a-kind with "filled with custom infographic-style artwork from local and regional artists," according to The Wren website. The property will include an interior courtyard, loads of meeting space, a Black Coffee Roasters cafe on the ground floor, and an adventure supply store called Revolvr Menswear. Their website says they will be open in "early 2022," however, their careers page says they will open later in the year.

With a new business comes new employment opportunities, with everything from management to front desk to coffee bar. Find job ops here, scroll down to "current openings." This is the third small market hotel project from Columbia Hospitality, they also own The Lark in Bozeman and The Finch in Walla Walla. Columbia Hospitality is based in Seattle and their group is very proud of their inclusivity in hiring, stating "discrimination of any kind has no place within our team."
