Ellen DeGeneres Goes Totally Meta, Interviews ‘SNL’ Ellen Impersonator Kate McKinnon [VIDEO]

Talented 'Saturday Night Live' player Kate McKinnon joined the cast in 2012. And while she's done many impressions, the one that tickled its muse most was Ellen DeGeneres, who invited McKinnon onto her show to ape her in front of a live audience.

After being interviewed as herself -- during which DeGeneres gave her some hand-picked clothes to update her 'SNL' Ellen wardrobe -- a gleeful McKinnon later emerged looking very much like the comedian and talk show host. (McKinnon, by the way, is the first openly-lesbian 'SNL' cast member, making her and Miss Ellen a match made in hilarity.)

Insert dancing, not knowing how to use a chair, more dancing and strange Ellen voices here. As expected, the real Ellen adorably gets in on the action -- and we loved every second of it.
