Costco Increases COVID Restrictions Inside Its Stores

You've got to wear a mask pretty much anywhere you go as long as it's an indoor public place in Missoula, and most major chains have implemented that policy nationwide. Since May, Costco has required customers to wear a face mask in the wake of COVID-19, but now, they're adding on to their in-store requirements.

For most people, things aren't going to change much. If you were wearing a mask before, well guess what, you're still gonna be wearing a mask. The difference is that those who were exempt from wearing a mask due to a medical condition must now wear a face shield while inside the store. The only people exempt to the new rule will be children under the age of 2.

So if you're someone who hasn't been wearing a mask at the supermarket because of a provable medical condition, it's likely this will be at least some inconvenience. Especially because I'd expect other stores to follow Costco's lead on this one. With COVID cases rising in Missoula, across Montana, and throughout the nation, all possible safety measures are going to be taken.

The good news is, this isn't going to last forever. Remember that. In fact, Dr. Fauci has been talking about Pfizer's vaccine this week, and says it and other vaccines will help us get through the pandemic soon as people start to get vaccinated during the early months of 2021.

But until then, everyone still has to do their part - wear a mask, socially distance from others, wash your hands. We're all in this together.
