Remember traveling? That was fun, wasn't it?

It's been a while since I've even thought about making a big trip - I had a few plans for 2020 to make trips to LA and Chicago, and I don't know if you've been paying attention to the news, but some crazy stuff has happened this year that made keeping those plans kind of difficult!

Obviously, due to COVID restrictions, everything has been different in 2020, and that includes travel between the US and Canada. Actually, Canada has had its border closed to any non-essential travel since pretty much this whole thing started, and it's looking that won't change anytime soon.

Now, even if you are doing essential travel, when you reach the Canadian border, you'll have to provide a negative COVID test taken within the last 72 hours. This is a policy that was already in place for flying, but now they've expanded it to land travel, too.

So what does that mean for Missoula? Well, I'm guessing you weren't doing a lot of essential travel to Canada anyway, so this may not apply to you. If you were though, this is an extra step you'll need to take.

When will Canada reopen its borders so Montanans can start doing some road trips again? That remains to be seen, but I think we're still a few months and several million vaccinations away from getting there.
