Black Bear Killed and Left to Waste in Bitterroot Valley

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has asked us to spread the word, as they need your help finding the person(s) responsible.

A black bear was shot, killed and dumped in the Bitterroot, estimated to be the weekend of September 12 and 13. Montana's fall black bear season opened September 15. FWP spokeswoman Vivica Crowser reports that the bear was dumped and left in the West Fork area, just shot and left to waste. At this point FWP has investigated the matter but now they really rely on tips from the public to find out what happened to this adult male black bear. The hope is that public information might lead them down the path to solving the case. If you saw or maybe heard something, don't hesitate to contact FWP.

Vivica also noted that said that when the person is caught they will receive a Montana FWP citation and the person or persons might also face legal trouble depending on a ruling from a judge.
