Bitterroot College Kicks Off Graduation Season

Friday afternoon, the Bitterroot College UM in Hamilton will conduct its 2021 Graduation Ceremony at the Daly Mansion lawn, under the big tent. This is the traditional location for the annual ceremony, which was not held last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The sixteen 2021 graduates will be in the processional at 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 30.

Bitterroot College Director Victoria Clark will welcome the class and the Keynote Speaker this year is Ravalli County Legislator David Bedey, who was one of the main supporters of successful legislative establishment the future Bitterroot Community College District. There will also be faculty and student speakers at the ceremonies and special awards. The motto for the graduating class - Nil Volentibus Arduum "Nothing is impossible for the willing." All invitees of graduates are welcome. No reservations are needed.

The Bitterroot College graduates can also participate in the University of Montana's Missoula commencement Saturday, May 1, as part of the Missoula College portion of the program. The UM ceremony will be in two parts at Washington-Grizzly Stadium - 9 a.m. for students in the College of Humanities & Sciences, College of Business and College of Forestry and Conservation. At 2 p.m. it will be the College of Education, College of Health, College of Arts and and Media, Missoula College and Master of Public Administration. The socially distanced ceremony will allow eight guests per student. During the two sessions, over 1,700 students will graduate. More information is on the UM website.

Bozeman's Montana State University also graduates in two sessions Saturday, May 1. The 134th commencement will be at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at MSU's Bobcat Stadium. Over 1,700 undergraduates and over 300 master's and doctoral degrees will be presented. The 9 a.m. ceremony will be for Colleges of Agriculture, Arts and Architecture, Letters and Science and Gallatin College. The 1:30 p.m. ceremony will be for College of Business and Entrepreneurship, College of Education, College of Engineering, Health and Human Development and College of Nursing.
