Stan Lee has been a good company man for Marvel – he’s appeared in pretty much every modern Marvel movie ever made and has generally be a positive brand ambassador. But geez, even Stan Lee kinda hated the ‘Fantastic Four’ movies…

A lot of movies came out in the Summer of 2012. Some were good and some were…not so good. But one thing’s for sure: they made a lot of money. We took a look back at some of the biggest movies of the Summer of 2012 to see what worked and what didn’t. Some films won’t surprise you – you mean ‘The Avengers‘ was a big hit?… – but others – people still go see those ‘Ice Age’ movies?! – will.

This will probably come as no surprise to any of you who watch ‘Game of Thrones’ or ‘True Blood’ but the Parents Television Council just released a study that found 76 incidents of full nudity during primetime hours, a 407% increase over 2011. That’s a lot of nudity.

Director Christopher Nolan is done with the ‘Dark Knight’ franchise – this he has said many times. And while it might seem hard for fans to believe that he is really done, Nolan wrote a goodbye letter in the foreward to the upcoming book ‘The Art and Making of The Dark Knight Trilogy’ that should serve as his definitive last word on Batman.

Earlier this week, ‘Dark Knight Rises‘ fans took a few critics to task for their negative reviews and by that we mean “issued death treats.” Threats of violence against a movie critic for a negative review is a little extreme, but when director Christopher Nolan was asked his opinion at the ‘Dark Knight Rises’ London premiere, he didn’t condemn that Batfans, he actually defended them.

‘The Hangover 3′ is happening. Though ‘The Hangover, Part II’ was basically a remake of the original film and mostly disappointed critics, the sequel made a ton of money (it was the fourth highest grossing film of 2011) and WB and director Todd Phillips have been quietly planning the third and final installment. ‘Jackass 3D’ was (another) huge hit in the franchise, so ‘Jackass 4′ always seemed like something of an inevitability. But part of the fun of ‘Jackass 3D’ was watching the stunts catch up on the aging cast and there was some speculation, they’re retire after completing the trilogy. Not quite. ‘Jackass 4′ looks like it could be on the way after all…

You saw a crappy glimpse of the ‘Django Unchained’ trailer last night via ‘Entertainment Tonight’ (the voiceover from the ‘ET’ anchor was crappy, not the footage) but today you get the real thing: the full ‘Django Unchained‘ trailer is here.

In an attempt to breathe new life into the ‘Scream‘ franchise, Dimension Films released a fourth installment – ‘Scream 4′ in theaters last spring. It didn’t work. ‘Scream 4′ performed poorly at the box-office and wasn’t a hit with audiences or critics. But that’s not the end of the ghost face killer!
