A$AP Ferg Details His Life Struggles on ‘Tatted Angel’

A$AP Ferg had a busy year but it also came with a major loss. In January, his fearless leader A$AP Yams passed away, which left a heavy toll on Ferg’s heart. On Sunday (Dec. 6), the Harlem rhymer dropped the introspective song “Tatted Angel," which is dedicated to Yams.

On the Hit-Boy-produced song, Ferg addresses the untimely death of Yams in a thoughtful verse. He raps, "And my tolerance is low so I'm never using / Sometimes I wish Yams was never using / When we toured in UK I knew I'd lose him / Yeah, I know I'd lose him / He went to rehab a year before and he seen improvement / But the fame and access is what abused him / But he in heaven now and I know God'll use him / Yeah, I know God'll use him."

Elsewhere, Fergenstein talks about breaking up with his girlfriend (“Broke up with a good girl who had my back / Now it’s gon’ be hard to find a real wife”), his hectic career and unscrupulous friends.

"It's been a long time since I even talk to n----s / Couple childhood friends turned to awkward n----s / 'Cause when you get Benjamins then come all the villains," he spits.

Ferg is currently working on his second album, which is titled Always Strive and Prosper. He also just launched his Trap Lord x Adi-Ease collection with adidas Skateboarding.
