25 Stunning Photos of Glacier National Park
Glacier National Park is one of America's most beautiful national parks. People travel from all over the world to get a glimpse of the impressive scenery and natural beauty.
The main attraction at Glacier National Park is Going-To-The-Sun Road. It's the only way to travel from the west side of GNP to the east. Along the drive, you'll see rivers, waterfalls, gigantic mountain peaks, and of course, glaciers. If you're lucky, you might even see grizzly bears and other types of wildlife.
Jackson Glacier is visible from Going-To-The-Sun Road, but many of the glaciers in the park are only accessible if you hike to them. GNP may not have as many attractions as Yellowstone National Park, but it's just as impressive.
I recently drove Going-To-The-Sun Road with some friends that were in town from Idaho. We attended the Under the Big Sky Festival in Whitefish and were fortunate enough to secure a vehicle reservation for GNP while we were there.
We left Whitefish on Monday morning and headed towards West Glacier. Unfortunately, some of the views were obstructed by cloud cover. When we hit Logan Pass, the temperature was only 55 degrees. It was a nice reprieve from the 90-degree temperatures we experienced at the music festival.
Glacier National Park is known as the "Crown Jewel of the Rockies," and it's one of my favorite places in the entire world. I've heard someone say that if God has a backyard, it would be Glacier National Park. Once you see it, you'll see why.
